ERS8 launched our Spring 99 series by
traveling to San Francisco's Artist's Television Access (ATA)
on 8 April 1999. With the help of ATA's Molly Hankwitz, an audience
of 50 welcomed our 17 super-8 films backed by San Francisco's Sexiest
- DJ Peppermint Pig.
The following three shows returned to Seattle's Alibi Room and featured 47
films by 26 different filmmakers with crowds between 60 to 100 people
per show. Seattle's DJ 00#/ previewed each show a day ahead-of-time
to properly develop his aural orchestrations, and as a result, brought
his sonic services to an all together new height.
The final Spring screening on 17 May featured an all-star cast that
included Anne Robertson, Martha Colburn and members of the Austin
Cinemaker's
Coop. The other highlight of the series was to see films submitted
in the spring by people who'd only been fans in the fall. Thus screenings
led to inspiration that led to production that led to more screenings!
